Disney Fantasy at the Port of Southampton: Northern Europe Cruise Season Begins
The port authority, ABP Southampton, announced on social media that the sea pilot had boarded the vessel at the NAB Tower, ten nautical miles from the pilot station in Gosport. Subsequently, the Disney Fantasy was safely maneuvered into the port with the assistance of various teams, including port planning, the VTS, mooring officers, and the land and cruise operations teams.
The Disney Fantasy will use Southampton as its homeport until the end of the summer season. From here, it will set sail to take passengers on three- to eight-day voyages to destinations in Northern and Western Europe, the British Isles, and Scandinavia.
For its maiden voyage from Southampton, the ship embarked on a five-day tour to northern Spain, with calls in the ports of La Coruña and Bilbao. Other destinations that the ship, with a capacity of 2,500 travelers, will visit during its season include Ålesund, Olden, and Stavanger in Norway, Cherbourg and La Rochelle in France, Copenhagen in Denmark, and Liverpool in England.
After concluding its European deployment at the end of September, the Disney Fantasy will head to a dry dock for a routine overhaul. The ship, built in 2012, will then return to North America in November to begin its winter season in Port Canaveral.
For the 2026 European routes, the sister ship Disney Dream is already scheduled. She is expected to arrive in Southampton in mid-July. The ship, built in 2011, will offer a series of three- to seven-day cruises to the Norwegian Fjords and Western Europe from its British homeport. The season will conclude with a week-long cruise around the British Isles, set to begin in Southampton on September 7, 2026.
