The two ships of the AIDA fleet have docked at centrally located berths in Norway's second-largest city. To allow both vessels to call at the port, the berth arrangements were coordinated between Felix Rothe, captain of AIDAprima, and his colleague Sven Laudan of AIDAbella. Finding an alternative port for AIDAprima proved difficult amidst the peak season, as capacities in Norwegian ports are currently heavily utilized by numerous cruise ships.
Guests of both ships now have the opportunity to explore the sights of Bergen, including the historic Hanseatic quarter of Bryggen and the local mountain, Fløyen. For both AIDAprima and AIDAbella, this stop marks the final port of call on their respective Norwegian cruises. At 5:00 PM, AIDAbella will continue its journey towards Kiel with a day at sea. AIDAprima will follow an hour later at 6:00 PM, setting course for its destination port of Hamburg.
Current and Future Deployments of the Ships
During the 2025 summer season, Hamburg serves as the homeport for AIDAprima. From there, the ship will undertake predominantly ten- and eleven-day voyages through the fjord landscapes of Norway until October. Contrary to original plans, the ship will also spend the upcoming winter season in the north, operating out of Kiel, as the voyages to the Orient have been cancelled. The new winter itineraries are already available for booking. AIDAbella is based in Kiel for the summer of 2025, conducting various, mostly two-week cruises to Northern European destinations.
