Today's docking at the Cruise Center Altona concludes a nine-day Western Europe cruise that began in Leixoes, near Porto on Portugal's Atlantic coast. Previously, the vessel operated on two new routes along the Iberian Peninsula. For the upcoming weeks, the itinerary will focus on destinations in cooler regions. The final scheduled visit to Hamburg is on September 20, 2025, when Mein Schiff 4 will embark on a repositioning cruise to Palma de Mallorca.
This Saturday, the Port of Hamburg is hosting a total of three cruise ships. In addition to Mein Schiff 4, AIDAperla is conducting its regular passenger turnaround at the Cruise Center Steinwerder between two Northern Europe voyages, a weekly occurrence this summer. The third vessel, Hurtigruten's MS Finnmarken, has been in port since Friday but is currently out of service for repairs with no guests on board. Consequently, only AIDAperla and Mein Schiff 4 will depart down the Elbe River this evening, heading for their next destinations.
