The issue with the system, which is also used for safety-critical announcements, was identified before the ship's arrival in Hamburg. According to passenger reports, on Tuesday, July 22, the vessel was only granted permission to leave the Norwegian port of Eidfjord under specific conditions. In close coordination with the flag state of Italy, it was decided that to guarantee the safety of everyone on board, music playback in the affected areas had to be suspended until the repair was completed. This was to ensure that crucial safety information remained audible to everyone at all times.
This measure had a direct impact on the entertainment program for the final two days of the voyage. Scheduled events with musical accompaniment in the Theatrium and Beach Club had to be partially canceled. However, the entertainment team responded flexibly by organizing alternative activities. The ship's bands and DJs performed in the Four Elements and the AIDA Plaza instead, continuing to offer guests a varied evening program.
Following the successful efforts of the technical crew in Hamburg, the loudspeaker system is now fully operational again. AIDAprima departed from the Hanseatic city as scheduled on Thursday evening, setting course for the Norwegian fjords on its next voyage. The onboard program can now proceed without any restrictions.
