Inclusion in Focus: AIDA and HSV Strengthen Diversity Through Joint Forum
AIDA Cruises and Hamburger SV have jointly committed to actively promoting diversity and inclusion. The Diversity Forum represents a crucial step in their ongoing collaboration.
Guests were welcomed by Captain David Rienecker, General Manager Steffen Haller, and Alexander Ewig (Senior Vice President Marketing & Sales AIDA Cruises) representing AIDA, alongside HSV Board Member Eric Huwer. A subsequent panel discussion provided a platform for intensive exchange: Kristina Vogel and Nikolaus Rizidis (both members of the AIDA Expert Council), Daniela Wurms (KickIn! – Consulting Center for Inclusion in Football), and Fanny Boyn (Fan Representative with an Inclusion Focus at HSV) deliberated on the current status of inclusive initiatives in Hamburg. Furthermore, already implemented projects by both partners and their shared future visions were presented.
Both organizations, AIDA and HSV, continuously emphasize the fundamental importance of inclusion in their respective spheres of activity. Their cooperation is based on the aspiration to learn from each other, build upon existing measures, and jointly dismantle barriers – both figuratively and literally. The overarching goal is to enable all people to participate fully in essential societal areas.
While accessible cabins and almost universally accessible ship facilities are already standard on AIDA cruise ships, HSV is consistently implementing these principles at the Volksparkstadion. There, the number of wheelchair spaces has recently been increased, and special areas with audio support are available for visually impaired fans.
These advancements, both at sea and on land, are the result of continuous dialogue. The partners intend to leverage their accumulated experiences to consistently promote the topic of inclusion and introduce new impulses in this field.
