AIDAbella: Unscheduled Stop in Norway Due to Medical Emergency

Kristiansand, Norway – The cruise ship AIDAbella, currently on a five-day short cruise from Kiel to Norway and Denmark, had to make an unforeseen stop in Kristiansand, Norway, during today's sea day, May 17, 2025. The reason for this was a medical emergency that necessitated the immediate disembarkation of a passenger to onshore emergency services.

The individual was disembarked in the port of Kristiansand between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM. The patient was transferred from the ship's hospital to a Norwegian hospital for further medical treatment. After a stay of approximately half an hour, AIDAbella was able to resume its journey towards Eidfjord, Norway. The ship is expected to arrive there on schedule tomorrow, Sunday, May 18, 2025. The current short cruise began on May 16 and will conclude back in Kiel on May 21, 2025.

AIDAbella is stationed in Kiel for the current summer season. Further short trips to Scandinavia are scheduled until the end of the month. Subsequently, from late May until mid-October, the ship will predominantly be used for two-week cruises, heading to destinations in Norway, the Baltic Sea region, and around Great Britain.
