Previously, it was irrelevant for receiving onboard credit whether shareholders (with a minimum holding of 100 shares) booked their voyage under the PREMIUM or VARIO fare. In the future, however, this benefit will be exclusively granted to guests who opt for a booking in the PREMIUM fare. The corporation communicated this adjustment on its dedicated shareholder benefits information page.
The amount of the onboard credit itself remains unaffected by this change. The current shareholder program is scheduled to run until the end of 2025, although experience has shown that it has been extended annually in the past. The tier system for the onboard credit is as follows and remains valid:
- For voyages of 6 days or less: 40 Euros onboard credit
- For voyages of 7 to 13 days: 75 Euros onboard credit
- For voyages of 14 days or more: 200 Euros onboard credit
Shareholders wishing to continue benefiting from the onboard credit will therefore need to book their cruises under the PREMIUM fare in the future. It is conceivable that this change might lead shareholders who previously preferred the VARIO fare to reconsider their shareholdings.
