Day of the Seafarer: Appreciation for the World's Seafarers

Since 2011, the Day of the Seafarer has been celebrated annually on June 25th. This special day of action focuses on the vital work of individuals employed in the shipping industry. The initiative for this commemorative day originated from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and complements the established World Maritime Day, which has been in existence since 1978.
