Las Palmas, Gran Canaria – Today, Sunday, April 6, 2025, Mein Schiff 7 embarked on a special cruise from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria. The purpose of this voyage is to attend the christening celebrations for the newest fleet member, Mein Schiff Relax, taking place on April 9, 2025, in Málaga, Spain.

The central event of the voyage, themed “Canaries & Christening Event Mein Schiff Relax in Málaga”, is the official naming ceremony of the new vessel. Alongside Mein Schiff 7, Mein Schiff 5 will also be present at the ceremony in Málaga, creating an impressive fleet rendezvous together with Mein Schiff Relax. A highlight of the celebrations, in addition to the christening ceremony, will be an open-air concert by TUI Cruises' brand ambassador Robbie Williams.

For this special voyage, Mein Schiff 7 is deviating from its usual itinerary within the 2024/25 Canaries season to call on ports in the Canary Islands and on the Spanish mainland. Unlike Mein Schiff 5, which began its journey to the christening event last Thursday and will subsequently remain in the Mediterranean, Mein Schiff 7 will return to the Canary Islands for further cruises following the celebrations.

The christening of Mein Schiff Relax itself will be formally celebrated. The official naming will be conducted by godmother Giuliana Rizzo, Spa & Sport Manager. She will perform the traditional breaking of a champagne bottle against the hull of the new vessel.

Since late October 2024, Mein Schiff 7 has primarily operated week-long cruises departing from and returning to Gran Canaria, covering the Canary Islands as well as Madeira or Agadir. The vessel's current extended Canaries season will conclude on April 27, 2025, with a ten-day positioning cruise from Gran Canaria to Hamburg, where the ship is expected to arrive on May 7, 2025. Following a short repositioning trip to Kiel, this port will serve as the homeport for the 2025 summer season. From Kiel, various itineraries are scheduled for the Baltic Sea, as well as Norway, Spitsbergen, and Iceland.
