In light of the predicted weather conditions, AIDA Cruises decided early to cancel the Madeira stop. As an alternative, the port of Santa Cruz in La Palma was quickly organized, ensuring the number of ports visited during the current Canary Islands cruise remains unchanged.
Today, Sunday, AIDAcosma is on schedule at sea. Due to the shorter distance, which only leads to La Palma instead of Madeira, today’s sea day will be shorter than usual. The use of the second sea day on the itinerary remains undecided. In principle, AIDAcosma can cover the distance from La Palma to Tenerife overnight.
A change in the port sequence to visit Madeira at a later point was not possible. The itinerary of the Canary Islands cruise requires AIDAcosma to dock in Gran Canaria on Saturdays and Tenerife on Wednesdays for guest changes, leaving little room for schedule adjustments. However, the revised route offers passengers onboard a unique highlight: AIDAcosma’s maiden call in La Palma.
Original Itinerary (January 18 to 25, 2025):
Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) – Sea Day – Funchal (Madeira) – Sea Day – Santa Cruz (Tenerife) – Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) – Arrecife (Lanzarote) – Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)
Revised Itinerary (January 18 to 25, 2025):
Las Palmas (Gran Canaria) – Sea Day – Santa Cruz (La Palma) – Sea Day – Santa Cruz (Tenerife) – Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura) – Arrecife (Lanzarote) – Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)
