Odyssey: World travel ship as a refuge for US Americans under the Trump administration

The shipping company Villa Vie Residences has brought the luxury world cruise ship Odyssey into play as an option for Americans looking for an emigration opportunity following Donald Trump's election victory. The ship will allow travelers to explore a total of 140 countries around the world during the Republican president's time in office.

With its unique concept, Villa Vie Residences offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in a new life on the high seas for four years. This Odyssey offer could be just the thing for anyone longing for a long break. Last Thursday, the shipping company presented its new “Skip Forward Packages”. These include various travel options: The “Skip Forward” package offers a four-year voyage, “Everywhere but home” covers three years, “Mid-Term Selection” is designed for two years, and “Escape from Reality” offers a one-year sabbatical.

Prices for a single cabin start at 239,000 euros. Those booking a double cabin pay from 299,000 euros per person. The price includes all meals, including a selection of drinks for lunch and dinner. Guests also have access to an extensive range of entertainment, including spa and fitness facilities.

Villa Vie emphasizes that the aim is not to stir up political unrest. Rather, the aim is to offer disappointed US voters an opportunity to leave everyday life behind and experience an extraordinary journey. The Odyssey is currently in the second month of a comprehensive, 15-year world tour, during which it will visit all seven continents, 13 famous “wonders of the world” and over 100 tropical islands.

In the past, Villa Vie Residences made the headlines as a start-up mainly due to delays in the conversion of the Odyssey and problems with individual guests. With the new offer, the shipping company is aiming to appeal to a broader target group. In the coming weeks, the Odyssey will cruise through the Caribbean before heading to other destinations on its global route.
