A-ROSA Mia: Cruise from 12.10.2024 canceled after grounding - ship must go to the shipyard

During this maneuver, the A-ROSA Mia touched the river bed for a brief moment. Although there was no danger to the guests or crew at any time, a technical defect in one of the ship's steering machines was discovered shortly afterwards. Despite the intensive efforts of the technicians on board, the problem could not be fully rectified and it was decided to take the ship to a shipyard for repairs.

Due to the necessary repairs, A-ROSA was forced to cancel the A-ROSA Mia cruise scheduled for October 12, 2024 at short notice. The passengers affected have already been informed about compensation options.

Whether further voyages of the A-ROSA Mia could also be affected by the repair delay remains unclear at present and depends on the progress of the work.

Dear guests,
We have been looking forward to the journey on the Danube together with you. Unfortunately, we still have to contact you with a change to the planned cruise.

On the previous trip, there was an unfortunate medical emergency on board. As we were unable to provide sufficient medical support, we decided to interrupt the cruise in order to provide the guest with medical care. Our crew rightly assessed the incident with the necessary seriousness and had to carry out a maneuver. In principle, such a maneuver is routine for our highly trained employees and is handled professionally. Unfortunately, there was a brief grounding, which subsequently led to technical challenges with one of the steering machines. Our technical crew on board and in the control center have already initiated the necessary repair work, but work by external specialists at a shipyard will be necessary. Unfortunately, this work will not be completed by the start of your cruise and we are therefore forced to cancel your cruise.

We are aware that you have been looking forward to your vacation for a long time. At the same time, we feel a sense of responsibility towards you and wish you the long-awaited vacation on board.
