On April 20, 2026, the AIDAdiva celebrates her 19th anniversary in Stockholm. The prototype of the Sphinx class, christened in Hamburg in 2007, is currently the centerpiece of the "Best of AIDA" event cruise. This milestone also serves as the official kick-off for the celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the AIDA Cruises brand. Maritime telemetry confirmed the ship’s arrival, docking port side in Stockholm for an overnight stay, allowing guests to enjoy the festivities without the pressure of an early departure.

Technically and visually, the "Diva" is more modern than ever. In the spring of 2025, she underwent "AIDA Evolution," the largest modernization program in the company's history. In Marseille, the ship was extensively refurbished and prepared for the future. In addition to a full cabin refresh, several balcony cabins at the stern on decks 6 to 8 were merged into spacious suites. Outdoor areas were also optimized: the naturist area moved to the starboard side, while a new, exclusive Sky Deck for suite guests was created on deck 14.

In terms of culinary offerings and entertainment, the ship sets new standards for the "AIDAselection" class. With eight restaurants, including the new "East Fusion" and "French Kiss," the dining concept has been decentralized. The legendary Theatrium received state-of-the-art stage technology for brand-new show formats. On the current anniversary voyage, stars like Otto Waalkes, Beatrice Egli, and DJ Alle Farben provide a festival atmosphere, while gourmet partners like Stefan Marquard deliver culinary highlights.

The decision to comprehensively modernize the AIDAdiva instead of decommissioning her is a strategic move. As part of the "AIDAselection" fleet, she can visit smaller, exclusive ports that remain inaccessible to megaliners. This demonstrates that proactive lifecycle management and targeted premiumization are highly effective. The 19th anniversary is not just a look back at the architectural revolution of 2007, but a successful launch into the next decades for the fleet.
