The ship serves as a floating resort, embracing the new brand motto, "It's Different Out Here." Whether on the starboard or port side, modern amenities and expansive open spaces await guests throughout the vessel. Highlights include the hybrid water slide "Aqua Slidecoaster" and 17 different dining options, featuring a new vegan concept. Strategically, the cruise line is increasingly focusing on exclusive, paid entertainment like the "LunaTique Pop Circus," while large stage shows remain included in the fare. Luxury travelers will find their retreat in the secluded "The Haven" area.
In its inaugural year, the Norwegian Luna will set sail from Miami to the Caribbean, before repositioning to New York in 2027 for Bermuda cruises. A central hub of the Caribbean routes is the NCL private island, Great Stirrup Cay. The island is currently undergoing massive expansion and, in addition to a new pier and sprawling lagoons, will feature the gigantic "Great Tides Waterpark," scheduled to open in the summer of 2026.
Technologically, the new build sets new standards with its Wärtsilä 25DF dual-fuel engines. Thanks to the innovative NextDF technology, methane slip during liquefied natural gas (LNG) operation is drastically reduced, allowing NCL to significantly surpass European environmental regulations. Overall, the Norwegian Luna reflects the strategic realignment under NCL President Marc Kazlauskas: a focus on environmental efficiency, strong B2B partnerships, and increased profitability through targeted onboard ancillary revenue.
