In March 2026, two new mega-ships are celebrating their premiere and changing the global cruise market. The Disney Adventure is setting sail in Asia. Originally built in Wismar, Germany, the massive cruise ship was taken over by Disney following an insolvency and completely redesigned. With space for around 6,700 passengers, it is the largest ship in the fleet. The voyages start from Singapore and are designed as pure sea days without shore excursions. The ship itself is the destination and acts as a huge floating theme park.

On board the Disney Adventure, everything revolves around experiencing the famous brands. There are seven different themed areas. Highlights include the 250-meter-long "Ironcycle Test Run" roller coaster on the upper deck. Whether you look out at the sea from starboard or port, you will find familiar characters from the movies everywhere. There was also celebrity support at the christening: actor Robert Downey Jr. officially sent the giant on its journey.

At the same time, Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is taking delivery of the Norwegian Luna. This newbuild from Italy offers space for just under 3,600 guests and focuses on classic Caribbean cruises departing from Miami. An important stop is the company's own private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas. The concept of the Norwegian Luna is strongly geared towards the American market and focuses on a luxurious resort feeling on the water.

The Norwegian Luna offers numerous technical and culinary highlights. In addition to the fast-paced "Aqua Slidecoaster" water slide, the focus is primarily on high-quality evening entertainment. With "LunaTique," there is an exclusive, ticketed pop-circus experience for adults. Both ships impressively show that modern cruises are much more than just transport from port to port—they are independent, highly elaborate vacation worlds.
