A real blockbuster for all cruise enthusiasts: Disney Cruise Line is fundamentally restructuring its fleet deployment for Summer 2027, sending the Disney Wish—a ship of the modern Triton class—to Europe for the very first time. While the Disney Wish leaves its previous home turf in Florida, the Disney Dream will return to the USA to take over short cruises to the Bahamas. This strategic swap allows the cruise line to establish its newest premium product and the associated technical innovations in the European market.

The season kicks off in April 2027 in Southampton, from where the liquefied natural gas (LNG) powered ship will initially undertake short trips to Belgium and Spain, as well as longer voyages into the Norwegian fjords. A special highlight for "Frozen" fans will be the new port of Hellesylt, which fits perfectly thematically with the "Frozen" dining experience on board. Anyone standing at the railing will notice that there are spectacular new coastlines to discover on both starboard and port side, as the ship moves its home port to the Mediterranean starting in May.

In the south, voyages from Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome) are on the schedule. Alongside classic destinations, the Disney Wish will call at ports like Zadar in Croatia and Trieste in Italy for the first time, offering an exciting alternative to Venice. Operationally interesting is a planned dry dock stay in Brest, France, in mid-May, which will likely be used for warranty work and hull cleaning. This underscores the high quality standards with which Disney is preparing the ship for its European guests.

The booking phases for these coveted voyages have already begun, tiered by Castaway Club status, with general booking scheduled to open on February 23, 2026. In terms of pricing, the Disney Wish is positioned noticeably above previous offerings from older ships in the region, due to the exclusive onboard experiences and modern amenities. Those wishing to be part of this premiere should plan early, as demand is expected to be very high.
