30 Years of AIDA: Major Event and Ship Parade in Hamburg 2026
For the festivities, AIDA is positioning three ships of different classes on the Elbe. AIDAperla will dock at the Steinwerder Terminal on June 6th, while AIDAprima will join in on the evening of June 7th, arriving from Norway. The trio is completed by AIDAsol, which will be berthed at the Altona Cruise Center. The highlight will be a joint birthday parade on the evening of June 7th. During this event, the ships will form up and sail down the Elbe together, accompanied by their typhoons. This maneuver requires precise coordination with port authorities, especially regarding passing traffic in the narrow fairway.
The anniversary voyages are marketed as "AIDA Specials" and appeal to various target groups through specific routes and entertainment packages. AIDAperla offers an "overnight" stay in Hamburg and a concert by the "No Angels." AIDAprima acts as a feeder from Norway, focusing on a party atmosphere with the "Hermes House Band," while AIDAsol serves a route to Western Europe. This planning guarantees high capacity utilization and connects the maritime experience on board with the event character on land.
Logistically, the simultaneous call places high demands on the infrastructure of the Hanseatic city. The supply of shore power is firmly planned at the Altona and Steinwerder terminals to minimize emissions in the port area. For Hamburg, the concentration of ships means an enormous tourism economic boost. Due to the passenger exchange of three ships and the numerous day visitors watching the spectacle from the Landungsbrücken, the hotel industry and local gastronomy on both the starboard and port sides of the Elbe will benefit significantly.
