Norwegian Luna: NCL Set to Redefine High-Seas Entertainment

The cruise world is eagerly awaiting March 2026, when Norwegian Luna debuts as the 21st ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) fleet. As the second vessel in the innovative Prima Plus Class, it is setting new technical standards and launching a massive entertainment offensive. At the heart of this development are the NCLH Creative Studios in Tampa, Florida, where Broadway-caliber shows are brought to life.

The undisputed highlight on board is "Rocket Man: A Celebration of Elton John." Developed in cooperation with Elton John’s own production team, this show goes far beyond a traditional tribute. Featuring four grand pianos on stage, exclusive archival footage, and a massive LED backdrop, the pop legend's career is vividly reimagined.

For those seeking a futuristic experience, there is HIKO. This first-ever original NCL character leads a sci-fi production titled "HIKO: Innovation Meets Wonder." A unique feature: guests can encounter HIKO at various locations across the ship, moving the narrative beyond the stage. With 3D mapping and a record number of elite acrobats, this production pushes the limits of traditional theater.

On Norwegian Luna, NCL focuses on clear audience segmentation to offer the perfect program for every guest:

  • LunaTique: A "pop circus" exclusively for adults (21+). The atmosphere mirrors the Las Vegas club scene—neon-lit, edgy, and stylish.
  • Sea of Discovery: An interactive underwater festival for children, featuring 3D-printed costume elements and glow-in-the-dark effects to encourage participation.

Spanning three decks, the theater is a true chameleon. Thanks to retractable seating, the auditorium can quickly transform from a Broadway stage into a vibrant nightclub. This venue also hosts the new Eclipse Parties and Planetdisco.

Excitement continues on both the starboard and port sides. The Aqua Slidecoaster will be the world’s longest and fastest hybrid waterslide at sea. For thrill-seekers, "The Drop" offers a ten-story dry slide experience. Sports enthusiasts can head to the Glow Court, featuring an LED floor used for interactive games by day and as a dance floor by night.
