Disney Dream Summer 2026: Sardinia Premiere and European Comeback
The European season kicks off in May 2026 with the Transatlantic crossing from Fort Lauderdale to Barcelona. This 14-night voyage is particularly popular with guests who appreciate relaxing sea days and wish to fully enjoy the ship's amenities.
During the peak summer, the Disney Dream will serve the Mediterranean. The homeports are Barcelona and Civitavecchia (Rome). Itineraries vary between 7 and 12 nights, visiting classics such as Santorini, Mykonos, or Naples. However, the real highlight this year is a premiere in the schedule.
For the first time, the Disney Dream will call at the port of Cagliari in Sardinia. This "Maiden Call" is more than just a new point on the nautical chart; it significantly expands the portfolio of experiences. Since Cagliari boasts a deep-water port, the Disney Dream can dock directly at the pier. Tendering is not necessary, making shore excursions much more relaxed, especially for families.
The historic city center is within walking distance from the port. Looking to starboard from the deck, passengers can already see the impressive backdrop of the city. Cagliari offers a successful mix of culture and nature. For history-loving passengers, an excursion to the ancient city of Nora, with its Roman ruins located directly by the sea, is highly recommended.
A special natural spectacle awaits guests in the lagoons surrounding the city: thousands of pink flamingos nest here. A trip to see these animals is likely to be an unforgettable experience, especially for younger cruisers, and fits perfectly with the nature-oriented focus of many Disney programs.
The return of the Disney Dream also means an upgrade in onboard entertainment for the European market. Unlike the Disney Fantasy, the Dream is designed in the Art Déco style, giving it a touch of the golden era of ocean liners from the 1920s.
Exclusively on the Disney Dream, the show "Beauty and the Beast" is performed in the Walt Disney Theatre. This Broadway-level production is based on the 2017 live-action film and fits culturally perfectly with the itineraries, which often touch on France. In terms of culinary experiences, the proven "Rotational Dining" continues, where guests change restaurants every evening but "take" their servers with them. Restaurants like the "Enchanted Garden," inspired by Versailles, blend seamlessly into the European flair of the journey.
After the Mediterranean season, the Disney Dream moves further north. From late summer, Southampton serves as the homeport for voyages to Northern Europe and the British Isles. The program includes the Norwegian Fjords and metropolises like Copenhagen. A special feature is the "Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise" at the end of August, which was completely sold out shortly after sales started in February 2025—a sign of the unbroken loyalty of regular customers.
Those wishing to secure a cabin for the summer of 2026 should act fast. Popular family cabins and suites are already in high demand for the peak season.
