A report is currently circulating in the cruise media that could cause uncertainty among AIDA travelers. Several cruise portals have reported that AIDA Cruises will discontinue PayPal as a payment method for bookings and via the MyAIDA portal as of October 1, 2025. Klarna is expected to take on a greater role in the future.

AIDA Cruises' social media team has responded to the rumors on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In a statement, the company dismissed the information as unconfirmed.

There has also been no official press release announcing the planned change. A journalistic inquiry to AIDA Cruises on this topic has so far remained unanswered.

The portals schiffe-und-kreuzfahrten.de [https://www.schiffe-und-kreuzfahrten.de/news/ aida-streicht-paypal-als-zahlungsmittel/372309/] and cruise-ahoi.de [https://cruise-ahoi.de/news-ticker/pa…estrichen-aida/], which originally reported on the end of PayPal at AIDA, have reacted differently to the situation. While the article on schiffe-und-kreuzfahrten.de has since been taken offline, the report on cruise-ahoi.de is still available.

What does this mean for travelers?
As long as there is no official announcement from AIDA Cruises, PayPal will remain one of the available payment options for cruise bookings. There is currently no reason to worry that you will not be able to pay for your next trip using this method as usual. However, the situation shows how quickly information spreads in the digital world and how important it is to wait for official confirmation from the companies themselves.
