The AIDAperla is currently celebrating its anniversary in the midst of a one-week Northern Europe cruise that begins and ends in Hamburg. Today, the ship reaches its first port in Norway, the city of Bergen. In the coming days, other attractive destinations are on the itinerary, including Nordfjordeid, Ålesund, and Stavanger, before the return journey to Hamburg with another sea day.
Throughout the summer months, the ship, recognizable by its distinctive "Kussmund" (kissing mouth) design, will be alternately deployed on routes through the Norwegian fjords and on the popular Metropolis route. With the start of the winter season, the AIDAperla traditionally exchanges the cooler waters of the North for the tropical warmth of the Caribbean. From the departure ports of Bridgetown in Barbados and La Romana in the Dominican Republic, the ship then embarks on two-week discovery voyages through the fascinating island world of the Caribbean.
The AIDAperla, the sister ship of the AIDAprima, was delivered by the Mitsubishi Shipyard in Nagasaki to AIDA Cruises in 2017, with a delay of about one year. It is considered an ideal family ship and offers a variety of amenities for young and young-at-heart guests. These include special Kids' and Teens' Clubs, exciting water slides, an exhilarating ropes course, numerous pools, and the family-friendly Fuego restaurant. The impressive cruise ship spans a length of 300 meters and features a total of 18 bars, 12 restaurants, and many other attractions that make a stay on board unforgettable.
