A week-long cruise, originally scheduled from May 11 to May 18, 2025, had to be cancelled a few weeks in advance. This was due to technical problems that led to restricted maneuverability and a reduction in the usual cruising speed. This issue has now been resolved in Portland, allowing the MSC Meraviglia to once again reach its full operational speed. During the night from Friday to Saturday, the lead ship of the Meraviglia class departed the port of Portland and headed back to New York City.
On Sunday evening, the MSC Cruises vessel embarked with new passengers on board for a cruise to the Caribbean. The current seven-day itinerary includes Florida and the Bahamas. Throughout the 2025 summer season, the MSC Meraviglia will be homeported at the Brooklyn Cruise Center in New York City, offering cruises to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and other Caribbean destinations from there.
