Major Maritime Event in Warnemünde: First Triple Cruise Ship Call of 2025

Warnemünde, May 18, 2025 – The Baltic seaside resort of Warnemünde is the scene of the first triple call of cruise ships this year, occurring today, Sunday. The "MSC Poesia" from MSC Cruises, the "P&O Aurora" from P&O Cruises, and the "Viking Jupiter," operated by Viking Ocean Cruises, have all docked in the port, creating an impressive sight along the quay.

The "MSC Poesia" is utilizing Warnemünde as its homeport for the current summer season, with a partial passenger exchange taking place today. For some passengers, a week-long voyage to destinations in Norway and Denmark concludes, while an identical itinerary commences for new guests. Alongside the Danish capital Copenhagen, the port in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania thus serves as a second key embarkation and disembarkation point for these cruises.

The itinerary for "MSC Poesia" from May 18 to May 25, 2025, is as follows: Warnemünde – Sea Day – Stavanger – Eidfjord – Kristiansand – Oslo – Copenhagen – Warnemünde.

In contrast, the "P&O Aurora" and "Viking Jupiter" are making only transit calls in Warnemünde. The British P&O Cruises vessel is on a 16-day Baltic Sea cruise, starting and ending in Southampton, England. The "Viking Jupiter," a luxury ship in the Viking Ocean Cruises fleet, is on a 14-day journey from Stockholm, Sweden, to Bergen, Norway.

For many international cruise passengers, the call in Warnemünde offers the opportunity for shore excursions extending to the German capital, Berlin. However, such tours involve considerable travel time, thereby limiting the actual duration of stay in Berlin. Attractive alternatives for regional excursions include the nearby Hanseatic city of Rostock and the scenic Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

The P&O Aurora's itinerary from May 6 to May 22, 2025, is: Southampton – Sea Day – Skagen – Copenhagen – Sea Day – Gdynia/Danzig – Klaipeda – Visby (Gotland) – Helsinki – Helsinki – Helsinki – Sea Day – Warnemünde – Sea Day – Sea Day – Zeebrugge – Southampton.

The "Viking Jupiter" is following this route from May 12 to May 26, 2025: Stockholm – Stockholm – Tallinn – Sea Day – Gdynia/Danzig – Rönne (Bornholm) – Warnemünde – Copenhagen – Aalborg – Oslo – Oslo & Sea Day – Stavanger – Eidfjord – Bergen – Bergen.
