Norwegian Cruise Line utilized the dry dock period for various upgrades to passenger areas. The outdoor decks have been enhanced with a brand-new whirlpool on Deck 18, an aqua park specifically for children, and the newly designed Vibe Beach Club for adults. The latter replaces the former Posh Beach Club and is furnished with comfortable lounge furniture. Additionally, the ship's cabin capacity has slightly increased with the installation of eight new balcony and oceanview staterooms.
Concurrently with these visible enhancements, routine technical maintenance and repair work were also carried out. Typically, such work includes a thorough overhaul of the ship's technology, as well as cleaning and repainting the hull. These essential tasks cannot be performed during regular guest operations. The crew remains on board during such a shipyard stay, undertaking duties different from their normal shipboard routine.
The Norwegian Epic will now operate in European waters until early November. The upcoming months will feature nine, ten, and eleven-day cruises originating and concluding in Civitavecchia, with destinations in the Western Mediterranean and the Greek Aegean. For the subsequent winter season of 2025/2026, week-long itineraries are planned from/to San Juan, Puerto Rico, through the Southern Caribbean.
Itinerary of the Norwegian Epic from May 8 to May 14, 2025: Civitavecchia (Italy) – Naples (Italy) – Sea Day – Barcelona (Spain) – Cannes (France) – Livorno (Italy) – Civitavecchia (Italy)
